Pierre Trudeau was born on October 18, 1919, in Montreal to a wealthy family. He helped keep order in 1970 during the October Crisis in Quebec. In the 1970's, the Trudeau administration was responsible for the Official Languages Act, temporary wage controls, and extending the limit for offshore fishing. He retired from politics in 1984.
