Here's a new twist on Musical Chairs! Kids draw pictures while they play this favorite party game.
1.
Everyone loves to play musical chairs. Here's a cooperative, artsy way to play!
2.
Arrange flat-seated chairs as in a traditional musical chairs game. Be sure there is one chair for each child. Arrange them so one chair faces one wall and the next one faces the opposite wall and so on. Choose music to play. It could match the theme of your party if you like.
3.
Place drawing paper on each chair. Tape the paper to the chair if you wish. Put a box of Crayola® Washable Crayons on each chair.
4.
Ask each player to choose a chair. When the music STARTS, children begin to draw. Children draw whatever they wish, such as party theme pictures (space ships, carnivals, crocodiles, sports), colors they hear in the music, or squiggly designs.
5.
When the music STOPS, children stop drawing and move around the chairs.
6.
When the music STARTS again, each child stops at the nearest chair and uses crayons to add to the drawing there.
7.
Continue the game until the drawings are full or interest wanes. Check out the masterpieces for more party fun!
