Easter Bonnet

Easter Bonnet craft

Welcome spring and Easter with this flowery bonnet that’s wearable! The beautiful blooms on the brim are made out of coffee filters.

  • 1.

Fresh flowers are a sure sign of spring. This colorful bonnet will brighten any spot in your house. Wear it if you like!

  • 2.

Cover your art area with recycled newspaper. Using Crayola® Erasable Colored Pencils, draw a large circle on posterboard. This will be the brim of your bonnet. Ask an adult to cut it out with Crayola Scissors.

  • 3.

Draw a circle in the middle of the brim that’s slightly smaller than your paper bowl. Ask an adult to cut out the circle.

  • 4.

Put Crayola School Glue around the rim of the bowl. Attach it upside down to the opening in your brim. Air-dry your hat.

  • 5.

Use Crayola Washable Watercolors and a Crayola Watercolor brush to paint your bonnet. For light colors, use more water. For darker hues, use less water. Mix colors if you like. Air-dry your hat.

  • 6.

Paint coffee filters in a variety of bright flower and leaf colors. Air-dry the foliage.

  • 7.

Fold each filter in half and in half again. Hold at the point. Open the folds into flower petals or leaves. Glue flowers and leaves all around the brim.

  • 8.

For ribbon streamers, watercolor a design on paper. Air-dry the paper. Cut into long strips. Glue strips to the back of your bonnet. What a striking spring decoration!
